What does a wedding photographer cost?
The numbers, the differences, and what you pay with us.
In the Netherlands a wedding photographer
usually costs € 1,500 to € 4,000.
What you pay depends on the number of hours, on what is included, and on whether one or two photographers turn up. With us a wedding starts at € 1,999 for six hours, and there are two of us. Below is the long version, without the sales talk.
Four things set almost the whole price.
Hours
Six hours covers the ceremony, the portraits and the drinks. Eight to ten hours also covers the preparations, dinner and part of the party. An extra hour is more than being present longer: every hour photographed is also more selecting and editing afterwards.
What is included
Album, preview, number of images, travel, how long your gallery stays online. A low package price with add-ons can end up costing more than a higher all-in price. Always ask what is not in it.
One or two photographers
Most photographers in the Netherlands work alone, and a second is a paid option that runs from a few hundred euros to a thousand or more. With us both are in the price.
Experience and demand
Photographers with full calendars price accordingly. That is not a rip-off, that is scarcity. It tells you something about demand and nothing about whether they suit your day.

Three packages, everything included.
Six, eight or ten hours, always with two photographers.
All-in, and without asterisks.
The three packages
- Basis · 6 hours€ 1,999
- Favoriet · 8 hours€ 2,449
- Luxe · 10 hours€ 2,849
Each step up costs less than the one before: € 450 from six to eight hours, € 400 from eight to ten. All prices include Dutch VAT and cover both photographers.
What is in every package
Nothing here is a separate line on the invoice afterwards:
- Both of us, all day
- An introductory call beforehand
- A detail call the week before
- At least 300, 450 or 600 images
- First preview within 3 days
- Full gallery in 8 to 10 weeks
- Full resolution with print rights
- A lighter web version of every image
- An album: 15×15, or 20×20 with Luxe
- A larger album ordered at booking: 10% off, and the included album lapses
- Gallery online 6 months, a year with Favoriet and Luxe
- Up to two years after delivery we will send the images again on request
- Drone when weather, venue and rules allow
- No print sales afterwards
Travel
Within the Netherlands, travel up to 20 km one way from Uitgeest is included; beyond that € 0.39 per kilometre, worked out in advance and written into the proposal.
In Italy the same packages apply, with two return flights and one hotel room added, since the two of us share one. A second room is only added if a different second photographer travels with us. For other countries we work the travel out with you beforehand. All of it costed in advance and itemised.
Paying
A deposit of € 500 secures the date. The final invoice goes out at the latest a week before the wedding and is paid at the latest on the day itself; the deposit comes off it.
* Extra hours are agreed in advance and written into the proposal, and a larger package earns a discount on them, up to twelve hours. Beyond twelve hours a different hourly rate applies, also agreed beforehand. If the day overruns on the day itself without being agreed, we charge per started quarter of an hour at € 75. It is all in article 5 of our terms.
Is that a lot, or not?
Work it out per photographer. In our price comparison four Dutch photographers offer a full ten-hour day, each of them working alone: the cheapest asks € 1,999, the most expensive € 2,750. With us ten hours costs € 2,849, and there are two of us.
A hundred euros above the most expensive of those four buys you a second photographer for the whole day, in the place the other one cannot be.
Tell us about your day.
Send us the date, the place and roughly how the day looks. You will hear back from Romy or Rolf, in English, and we will tell you straight away whether we are free.
